![]() The rest of our experience was really nice - I loved all of the different tubs, which were immaculately clean. This entire interaction made me feel terrible, but we decided to stay bc we had traveled there from NYC and already paid. This all happened in public and was extremely embarrassing and infantilizing. ![]() The manager then escorted me to the locker area, and kept touching me and grabbing my arm as though she were trying to help or guide me, which I don't need at all, and which made me super uncomfortable. After we insisted, they relented and allowed me to enter. In the end, my friend and I basically refused to comply, and told them that their rules were against federal disability law, and that I would be coming in and using my cane. What?! I told her that I'm an adult person and am responsible for my own wellbeing, and we wouldn't be signing any form. A manager came out, and told me it was against the rules, and that my friend would need to sign a form stating that she was my GUARDIAN. I said that I had no problem with stairs, but again that I needed the cane to walk. I said that I needed it to walk, and she told me it was against the rules, that there were stairs and that I would not be allowed inside. ![]() My friend and I took the (very convenient) shuttle bus from Manhattan, walked in, paid, and then the person behind the counter noticed that I had a cane and told me I was not allowed to use it inside. I had a pretty bad experience when entering the facility, and it unfortunately colored the entire afternoon I spent at King Spa.
